QuIC is a low-resource mechanism for collecting quick and frequent quality of care data from maternity facilities in the four E4A focal regions of Ghana primarily using telephone interviews. The job will be based at the E4A office in Accra but will require a significant proportion of time (approximately 1/4) travelling throughout Ghana. Reporting to the E4A Ghana Country Director, the specific responsibilities of the E4A QuIC Research Officer will be:
- To visit all Health District Health Management Teams and health facilities offering delivery care in the 16 E4A focal districts to initiate the QuIC study
- To collect data from each facility on a quarterly basis by telephone (including data collection/data entry/ basic data analysis/ presentation of data for feedback)
- To ensure that the data which has been collected is disseminated appropriately and in a timely manner
- To attend E4A team meetings where possible
- To report regularly on QuIC activities to the appropriate colleagues
- To assist in the further analysis and reporting of study findings
- To keep track of budget and expenses on a day-to-day basis and carry out appropriate financial reporting
- To provide input as needed to cross-national QuIC activities
- To work with the E4A Ghana team on activities of which the QuIC study is a component
- Carry out any other duties required for the successful implementation of the QuIC study
