Would this lawmaker need to be flown abroad for good quality healthcare, if their hospitals are well equipped with well trained health workers? Rather than reforming our health sector, they go abroad to treat constipation while pregnant women and newborns lose their lives because of poor health systems.
Michael Chinda, a lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly who sustained serious injuries during a fight in the House, is now to be flown abroad for treatment as it was said that he could no longer speak. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) leadership in the State has said that it has concluded arrangements to fly him abroad for further medical treatment. It is so interesting but shameful and heart breaking that these lawmakers make no provisions to provide good quality healthcare in their state.Unfortunately, it is the same story at the federal level as the FG has failed to fulfill the 15% of annual budget committed to develop the health sector.Watch the short video
