Voluntary Blood Donors Ask for Recognition

The Voluntary Blood Donors Association in Sierra Leone are currently calling on government through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to kindly recognize services and contributions blood donors make towards improving services for mothers and babies.
At the MamaYe launch last week Friday, over 50 units of blood were collected from voluntary blood donors. Mr. Desmond Lewis, the President of the Voluntary blood association and also the highest blood donor in the city, having donated over 94 times, reiterated the importance of blood donation to saving the lives of mothers and babies.He also spoke boldly about the need for more recognition by government of the great contribution the voluntary blood association makes in health.
