Just a thought...

As Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”I so much agree with Mr Mandela. I believe education can be used to curb adolescent pregnancies in the world, especially our country, Malawi. Starting from the family level to the national level, we should take the initiative to stop adolescent pregnancies, by sensitizing all people around us about the dangers of this problem. Not just the girlsWe should not only focus on the girls who become or are on the verge of becoming pregnant, but also on the boys, if we are to stop this big problem in our communities. This is a big job, which is why we have to join hands in dealing with this problem.Quality of life, success on one’s life is everyone’s responsibility. Success does not come to people; people should always go for their success, especially for us girls. Adolescent pregnancies will always pulls us back.Time to stop wishing and start actingI believe it is time to stop wishing it should stop, but to start considering that nothing is impossible, that we should start treating possibilities as probabilities. Action is better than no action at all, so let us do something. Let us educate our friends, mothers, fathers, preachers, chiefs and everyone in a leadership role to teach others on the dangers of adolescent pregnancies and how much we want it out among our fellow youths. Let us keep ourselves busy with school, church, sports, work to avoid falling trap of teenage pregnancies for a better future. With determination, we can attain and enjoy our youthful nature and enjoy motherhood at the right time, in the end, we will acquire happiness, as Jim Rohn said “Happiness is not an accident, nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something you design.” It depends on us.Happy World Population Day from all of us at MamaYe Malawi!
